Javelin Marketing-A Simple Way to Delegate Prospecting
by admin ~ June 6th, 2009. Filed under: financial services marketing. With 100 million Americans logging on daily, the Internet is a super powerful method of financial services marketing. In fact, even when consumers are searching for you directly, research shows that more people use thew Internet than yellow pages. So if the Internet is not part of your financial services marketing mix, you lose business as people can’t find you.
One of the more popular ways to market yourself on the Internet is using Google Adwords. But the cost is outrageous. For example, let’s say you want to be found when a prospect does a Google search for “Chicago Financial Advisor.” Because of intense competition, it could cost you $5 per click for that key phrase (you’ll be competing against Charles Schwab and others with deep pockets). This means you pay Goggle $5 every time someone clicks on your link even if they never call you, they leave your web site in 3 seconds or fail to take any action. In other words, you become a cash machine for Google and if you don’t have a BIG financial services marketing budget, this may be beyond your means.
But there’s a way to harness this marketing power for much less and this video download explains. Turn your speakers on.

There are other ad networks that are much cheaper than Adwords, but of course traffic and viewership tends to be tier 2. However, if you have a targeted campaign then you can be very successful.

Natural SEO and article marketing can be as productive as PPC. You need to change your mindset a bit but its works.

I have to agree with you on the competition for Google Adwords campaigns. I have been on both sides as an advertiser using google adwords on my site and I have used google adwords for marketing purposes. While it feels good to know people are finding your site it can also become a very expensive marketing campaign with out much coming back in return. Any other forms of marketing help greatly.

I personally use google adwords before and I have to say it’s a good return on investment (if you really know how to market your product) anyway, thank you for the podcast!

Google adwords is great – but I still prefer good old SEO

I agree with one of the other commenters that while Google Adwords is great, old fashioned, organic SEO is still preferable. I feel like it is a more ‘honest’ approach to getting your site noticed. Besides this, it allows you the chance to get to know your niche better

I am a self-employed teacher and I am currently “shopping around” to find the best way to market my services. Although I am not a financial advisor I know that I can learn a lot from the tickets you share with us. I am going to watch your video because acquiring new clients and coming out on top of the Google entries is quite a challenge. This is very useful!!!!!

I have tried both traditional SEM, article marketing, optimization, video marketing and PPC. My experience is that I get the most qualified traffic by using ppc.
Thanks for the post, mate.

Although PPC is costly it is the quickest way to generate traffic. Yes, if you don’t know what you’re doing you will get burned, badly, but if you do know what you’re doing it can become a cash machine for YOU, not just Google.

I agree Jackie, I find PPC gives the greatest profit, so for all my new sites I don’t optimize it for the search engines, I simply set up my PPC campaign and watch the money roll in!

Quite agree with the article. While PPC campaign can bring a lot of money, the choice of a proper keyword is also need to be noted. If u choose a very competitive word, I am afraid it might backfire.

I agree, Google adwords can be quite expensive. I recommend getting a full understanding on how to optimize your key words to get the most of your money. You can easily spend thousands of dollars in a 30 day period with little or no return with your ads.

I agree Natural SEO is as productive as PPC, the only difference is Natural SEO is free. You dont have any monthly cotract and no bidding. You just have to check your keywords every time.

adwords is expensive mainly because they can be. Google is the #1 search engine and unless some other power knocks them off the top, they can basically charge any amount and people will stay pay it to create an edge over another potential advertiser. This is in fact how America operates. If you are a big corporation with an unlimited amount of money to spend, you will be easily ranked – if you are a small busines owner with a small budget – you might just be wasting your money!

There are a lot of other ppc services besides Google. Google is good but expensive. Check out other services and get some experience with them as well.
